Our award winning client is recruiting for a software quality assurance engineer to join their fast growing team. Our client are a managed security services provider (MSSP) providing Professional Security Services i the form of advisory, risk assessment and compliance solutions. Their client base spans the globe, from the UK to the Middle East, Australia and North America. Our client works across many sectors such as oil and gas, finance, legal, charity and public sector. They are keen supporters of the Armed Forces community and have supported training programmes for Veteran employment in Scotland. Additionally, they already employ a number of Armed Forces Veterans across the business.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a cyber security consultant you may be working on your own with a customer, perhaps on a specific project or as an outsourced advisor. Or you may be working as part of a larger team with our client. This is a customer facing role in which you will be working with customers to help them identify, manage and mitigate their cyber security risks. You will act as their trusted advisor to support a range of customers to improve their security posture.
Specifically, you will work with various frameworks to conduct security maturity assessments. From this you will create threat-profiles and practical roadmaps to improve cyber risk management, that considers the size, threats, risk posture and investment appetite of customers. You will produce threat models on customer's key applications and identify indicators and warnings to help detect attackers. Additionally, you will support customers to improve their security operations via AWS and MS Azure.
ABOUT YOU
Our client is looking for someone from a threat intelligence or risk management background. Exposure to cyber security threats and risks would be highly advantageous as would exposure or knowledge of the MS suite of cyber protection. Familiarity with Cyber Essentials, NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks would also be helpful. You should be comfortable and competent briefing and writing reports for those from a variety of backgrounds, including managerial and technical. Our client are looking for people that are happy to work as part of a team but who can work independently via their own initiative. Your stakeholder management skills should be excellent.
This role would suit someone from an Armed Forces J2 and/or J6 background, who has worked at operational/strategic levels, particularly regarding the level of stakeholder that you have previously briefed.
