About the Client
Our client is a large electrical engineering and contracting company, in the energy industry. As well as oil and gas, they also work in the wind energy sector. They support the project management of design, fabrication, service and maintenance of energy assets. This can include turnkey engineering solutions, providing interim expertise, to delivery of components and systems. Our client operate internationally in Europe, Asia and the US. They are currently recruiting for an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Lead to manage the E&I team. The UK business is led by an Armed Forces Veteran so applications from ex-Forces will be viewed favourably.
About the role
You will report into the Operations Manager and lead a team of 7 on a range of E&I projects. These include providing service support to offshore E&I systems, design and installation of E&I systems on offshore assets as well as the design and fabrication of E&I control modules. Your primary role will be the management and leadership of the Engineering team. This includes the planning and allocation of engineers to projects and services to create efficient team utilisation. You will also manage the team's on call rota to ensure support calls are completed and closed to provide the highest levels of service delivery. You will lead the delivery of projects through your team to meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will provide technical assurance and leadership for the systems and services being delivered including technical input for the design, technical assurance regarding safety, cost effectiveness and being fit for purpose. You will also support the development of quotes and tenders to meet Customer specifications and support the strategic development of the team and business promoting it both within the wider company and to customers.
About you
It is critical that you have prior hands on experience designing electrical systems. You should have a relevant engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechatronics. CEng would be advantageous. You should also have prior team leadership experience. Whilst Oil and gas experience would be helpful, our client are very open to considering candidates from other industries and sectors who can bring new thinking and ways of working to their business. Additionally, any experience with programmable, logical control systems would be helpful.
