Our award winning client provide a range of maintenance services, cleanroom validation and HVAC services across the pharmaceutical, food & drink, engineering and manufacturing sectors. They build long-lasting relationships with their clients which means longer contracts and greater stability of employment for their team. We have placed a few ex-Forces with this client as they grow. They are currently recruiting for maintenance engineering technicians to join the team at a whisky maltings facility in Moray. You'll work with other Armed Forces Veterans both within the maintenance and management team.
About the role
As a maintenance engineer, you'll provide a full remit of maintenance and repair services for this busy site's production equipment. This will include working in confined spaces and at height. In particular, you'll work on electro-mechanical repairs to a PLC-controlled plant, handling and conveying equipment, also pneumatic and hydraulic control systems. Also you will maintain the plant facilities and services, including compressed air with your team. This is a day shift role but you may be required to cover the odd nights and/or weekend shift to support with holidays and sickness. An overtime rate of £26.69 p.h is available if this is needed.
Additional duties include:

Input to and carry out Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Routines

Participate in the inputting of the maintenance management system (CMMS), records of all changes, stores transactions made and work carried out

Support the operations team in achieving targets

Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment, installations and modifications

To be observant & work off your own initiative when a fault is detected & to take action based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or not

To keep clean any areas in which you are working, including any transit areas to & from the workshop, including the workshop & stores

Co-operate & participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling & other job-related competencies
About you
Our client is looking for someone who is experienced with both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities. This should be combined with relevant qualifications but an electrical qualification is highly desirable. You should also have an aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic / trouble-shooting and be a great team-player. Computer skills would be advantageous as well. This role comes with 33 days holiday, inclusive of public holidays. All PPE is provided. This is a fantastic role for an Armed Forces service leaver or Veteran, in a stunning part of Scotland.
