They are recruiting for a mechanical technician to undertake breakdown response, fault investigation, repair, maintenance and improvement works to a variety of equipment and installations throughout their network.
About the role
Your main responsibility is to support the delivery of the agreed planned preventative maintenance schedule, installations, planned inspections, effective fault diagnosis and repair. Due to the nature of the role, you will be part of an out of hours standby rota as and when required. Additionally, the post requires frequent outdoor work, in all weather conditions, working both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently. In more detail you will:

Produce recommendations to minor problems, undertaking project design and leadership where appropriate

Provide inspection, monitoring and reporting on the condition of assets

Safely and efficiently support the delivery of improvements to the network

Provide business administration support to ensure accurate documentation and recording of all maintenance activities and duties

Contribute to resource planning to assist prioritising available resource

Work with you team and across the business to ensure technical, health, safety and environmental performance

This is a permanent role working Mon-Fri. Alongside salary, you'll receive a generous annual leave entitlement of 33 days rising to 38 after 5 years (Inc. public holidays), along with enhanced company sick pay, discounted shopping vouchers, and a contributory pension scheme with up to a 10% employer contribution.
About you
Our client are looking for someone with:

Recognised Apprenticeship (or similar level)
-
Minimum HNC (or similar level) in Mechanical/Hydraulics engineering
-
Authorised Person in the following areas: Mechanical/Hydraulics with Electrical desirable

Experience working with Rotating machinery, valves, Electrohydraulic systems, Various Instrumentation, Hydraulic power units, Fluid Pumps and PLC Control Systems

Strong Health & Safety Awareness
-
Good Communication Skills
-
Comfortable using MS Office Packages
-
Flexibility and initiative for responding to emergency breakdowns
You will also need a full driving license for this role as you may be supporting assets at others sites from time to time.
