Our clients are experts in rail, logistics, track maintenance and renewals. Our client have an impressive history of developing unique and innovative technologies and machines to make rail handling and logistics safer, with more efficient working practices. The business is 30 years old and now operates internationally as well as in the UK. Examples of projects they work on include the installation of new railway line, track removal to support bridge/viaduct works, sleeper installation, track panel lift, removal and installation, and support to re-railing. Our client are recruiting for a driven project manager to join their team based out of Kilmarnock.
About the role
This Project Manager role is responsible for establishing a project management discipline for our client. to ensure the prioritisation and delivery of their projects. Projects will include strategic engineering developments, system implementations amongst others. The Project Manager will also be expected to take part in hands on project delivery, owning the more complex engineering projects. This is a leadership role and the project manager will directly manage a Project Co-ordinator and will also provide support for other staff members developing their Project Management expertise.
About you
Our client want someone with an engineering background, preferably in civils, plant or rail. You should also have a recognised Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 as well as some practical experience in managing projects successfully. Use of MS Project would be highly advantageous. Additionally, our client want someone who is driven and can successfully mentor others in the team.
