Our Defence industry client are actively recruiting for a senior quality technician to join their team in the central belt of Scotland. Our client have been active in the industry for more than 70 years and are part of a global group who manufacture and test components for missiles, ejection seats, artillery, counter-measure systems, missiles and rockets amongst others. About the role
This is a 12 month fixed term contract role. Reporting into the Quality Engineering Manager, the Senior Quality Engineer provides support to the Operations Function. Your main role will be to ensure Product compliance against specification requirements. This will include ensuring AS9100 Quality Management System compliance including internal and external auditing. You will play a key role in problem investigation and driving Continuous Improvement activities for our client. On a day to day basis, you may get involved with:

Quality Engineering support for our client's Manufacturing and New Product Introduction.

Verification of product compliance against specification requirements.

Review and audit of production processes to ensure they operate effectively and proactively promote process improvements.

Problem investigation / Root Cause Corrective action.

Management of the Non-Conformance Processes.

Successful completion of allocated Quality Engineering Improvement Projects

Carry out internal Product Audits and QMS Audits in accordance with AS9100 requirements.

Carry out external Quality Audits / evaluations of suppliers in accordance with AS9100 requirements.

Carry out First Article Inspections.

Training and support of the Quality Control Inspection team.
About you
A degree of equivalent experience in an engineering discipline is essential and an auditing qualification would be advantageous.
Our client are looking to recruit someone with solid experience in quality management / product assurance combined with a comprehensive knowledge of the processes and controls used in the manufacture of high reliability products. This should be demonstrate by your proven track record in proactively identifying and implementing improvement opportunities whilst using data analysis tools and techniques to review process performance, identify trends and help drive process improvement. You should also be able to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
