About the role
Based out of Inverness, once settled into the role, this will be a pretty independent and autonomous role for the successful candidate. Your primary focus will be on health, safety & welfare of the sites within your geographic area of responsibility across the Highlands and Moray. You will also have some responsibility for quality and environmental issues, but will be supported in this with dedicated group teams. This role offers an excellent opportunity to engage with key internal stakeholders to ensure Group SHEQ policies, procedures and documentation are in place for all employees, sub-contractors and anyone else affected by our operations, including safe systems of work, and site-specific risk assessments, ensuring as a minimum best practice. You will be responsible for ensuring the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of health, safety and welfare, providing competent information, guidance and advice as required. About you
Our client are looking for someone with a strong background in Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management. Experience in auditing systems, policies and procedures relating to compliance is needed. Experience of this whilst in a building/construction environment would be helpful but not essential. You should have some SHEQ certifications, NEBOSH would be advantageous but not essential as would familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
Our client are keen to recruit someone who is collaborative and takes the approach of working together to improve things. You should be proactive and happy to work via your own initiative whilst taking direction via non-face to face management. You should be a Strong communicator who can engage with colleagues and provide clear advice verbally and within written reports and presentations.
