About the client
Our client are a specialist in telecoms infrastructure. They can support clients at every stage from pre-build planning, managing the build process and associated stage boundaries. Based in central Scotland, this family run business have a range of service offerings from electrical and electrical design, rigging, civils and DICI. Our client are are NICEIC, Cellnex, WIG, NATS & SAFECONTRACTOR approved. They are an Armed Forces Covenant signatory and already employ Veterans within their team and in leadership roles. They are keen to expand the number of Veterans and have asked us to support them do so. They are currently recruiting for qualified Riggers to join their growing team.
About the role
Our client are expanding and require Riggers of various levels throughout the UK to deliver new site builds, upgrades, vendor swap and decomms across greenfield, rooftop and streetwork site types. They have opportunities available for Rigging Team Leaders 2nd and 3rd person riggers. Typical duties will involve:
- General Rigging duties
- Carrying out rigging works to the agreed specifications in a safe manner
- Cabling, labelling and cable terminations
- Dismantling and removing equipment from masts, towers, rooftops, and pylons
- Provide detailed updates on of progress on site
- Completing handover documentation
About you
Our client ideally want to recruit Riggers who have experience working on building sites, particularly in fault finding and roll outs. You should also have experience in working at height.
- It is essential that you have
- a Full UK Driving license
- Advanced climber and Tower Rescue
- Heavy rigging, lifting and winch training
- RF Awareness
- First Aid at height
- Rooftop Safety & Access
You should also have
- Good Understanding of the major Mobile Telecommunication Networks
- Be conversant in rigging specifications/Standards for the major networks
- Experience in installation of antennas, feeders, fibre, DC, MHA's and associated steelwork etc
- Exposure to the use of test equipment Anritsu/Fibre Tester, GPS Alignment tool
- The 'Right-First-Time' attitude
- Remain proactive
- Ability to problem solve under pressure
- PC Literacy
- Willing to work unsociable hours when required
- A willingness to work away from home when required
These roles would suit experienced technicians from a communications background. Time spent as a JNCO would be helpful for a Team Lead position.
