Our client are an international leader in complex logistics. They provide safe, secure and professional transportation services on behalf on various public sector organisations. A national organisation but with a substantial presence in Scotland. Our client have 8 vehicle depots across the country and a control centre, based near Glasgow. Our client already has Armed Forces Veterans as part of it’s management team. So, they are looking to expand that in recognition of the skill and fit that ex-Forces could bring. They are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Base/Depot Manager for their Perth depot.
About the role
The Vehicle Base Manager leads a team to ensure successful and cost effective fleet management that enables the organisation to achieve it's key objectives and mission. The majority of the responsibilities focus on team leadership and management, health and safety and compliance management, as well as balancing cost and resources. Specifically, you will:

Manage, motivate and lead Vehicle Base employees to maximise their performance, productivity and engagement.

Deliver a strategic “People Plan” for the Vehicle Base with a focus on succession planning, talent mapping and performance management.

Ensure that Health and Safety policies and procedures and all Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s) are in place and adhered to at all times within your Vehicle Base.

Work as part of the Regional Team towards the achievement of the Region and our client's objectives.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders

Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and policies in relation to fleet management
Successful applicants will be required to undergo Enhanced disclosure checks to be eligible for this role.
About you
Our client are looking for someone with prior fleet/logistics management experience who has been in a leadership role previously. You should have a good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and be able to assess risk and make risk based decisions. You should be an excellent influencer, both of those more senior and junior to you as well as your peer group. Our client want someone who is confident in challenging the status-quo to positively influence and support the achievement of business objectives. You should also be able to organise yourself and others and to manage time and concurrent priorities. A driving license is essential for this role.
If you are an O Licence holder, or be willing to undertake training to achieve O licence accreditation, holder of CPC National Passenger Transport and Road Haulage or willing to undertake training (PCV or freight national), that would be advantageous.
